“Starcover” is Now Known as
“Entertainment Disability Insurance”

Petersen International Underwriters, in an effort to better serve the disability insurance marketplace, announces new enhancements that improve the function of one of its most popular products. The PIU “Starcover” disability coverage is one of those products that has had enough changes to warrant even a name change: “Starcover” is now “Entertainment Disability Insurance.” With that name change comes a broader spectrum of occupations. All entertainers, not just the “stars” should be considered for this type of coverage: performers, artists, writers, models, directors, motivational speakers, and piano lounge singers to name a few.

“In addition, there is a 5 year policy for most cases, and while rarely is there a problem obtaining sufficient insurance benefits, maximum issue limits to $50 million or more are available,” states Thomas Petersen, VP and Public Information Officer for Petersen International Underwriters.

Waiver of Premium and Presumptive Disability are built in and several options have been added. These options include residual disability, Cola, and disfigurement benefits.
